Frequently Asked Questions

If the answer you need isn’t listed here, please contact us—we're happy to help!

I filled out the form, whats next?

You'll be receiving an email with all the info you need for the next steps including a link to purchase a screening license.

Please reach out to screenings@humansforhousing.org with any questions!

How much time should we plan for between booking and hosting a screening?

We recommend giving yourself at least 3-4 weeks. This gives you plenty of time to spread the word and build excitement for your event. Need to schedule sooner and want help planning? Let us know! We’ll try to help you make it happen.

What kind of venue works well to host a screening?

You’ll need a space that fits your audience and has the right screening setup—think large display, projector, or cinema screen. Popular choices include auditoriums, churches, community centers, or library meeting rooms. Some hosts even team up with local theaters or schools!

Can I charge for my screening?

Absolutely! You can set the ticket price or even offer free entry if that’s your vibe. Most people find that $8-$15 is a sweet spot.

Can I show the film at my conference?

Yes, you can! Just fill out the Screening Interest Form and tell us about the conference in the provided text box. We’ll reach out to you directly to talk through the film’s feature at your event.

How much is a screening license?

One-time screening licenses start at $400. However, we don't want finances to stop this story from being told—reach out to screenings@humansforhousing.org if you need a cost reduction to make a screening happen.

How many times can we show the film with a one-time license?

The license covers one public screening of the film. If you are interested in showing the film multiple times, please reach out and we can work towards a rate that works for everyone.

Should I lead the post-film discussion?

We highly suggest a discussion right after the film. Many organizers choose a community member to lead, but you can also invite a panel of local experts. Want something extra special? The filmmakers are available to lead the discussion and answer questions—just reach out to learn more about their speaking honorariums.

Where is the film hosted?

Our film is hosted on Kinema, a platform that handles all the tech logistics for screenings. When you purchase a screening license, you'll do so directly through Kinema—and their team will provide any technical support you need along the way. They’re the best resource for anything related to the screening platform, streaming, or troubleshooting.

That said, we’re still here for you! If you have questions about the film, impact campaign, or anything else, feel free to reach out to us directly at screenings@humansforhousing.org.
